Cyndie is an ordained minister with the South Central Hispanic District of the Assemblies of God. The SCHD Ministers’ Retreat was held this year in Tyler, Texas, in the facilities of the Primera Asamblea de Dios. This immediately followed our time at the North Texas District Council, about 100 miles to the east.
We were ministered to by Dr. Robert Crosby and his wife Pamela. In the evenings we were blessed by the ministry of Rev. Mike Santiago III pastor of Focus Church in Releigh, North Carolina, grandson of our dear missionary friend Mike Santiago and son of missionaries David & Dana Santiago who successfully ministered for many years in the International Church in Madrid, Spain.
The ministry and the fellowship was a tremendous blessing. We are especially blessed to be a part of the South Central Hispanic District. It is a District where Missions is still in the forefront and we are the recipients of much love, prayers, and financial support. The District is forging ahead starting new churches and sending more missionaries.
In the picture are the pastors of the three top missions giving churches in the SCHD. Fittingly, the Assistant Superintendent and Missions Director of the SCHD is the pastor of the top missions giving church, Centro Cristiano A/D in Rogers, Arkansas. What a great example! Second in the District for Missions giving was Casa de Oración in Longview, Texas, pastored by Agustín Campos and in third place Centro Cristiano in Springdale, Arkansas pastored by District Secretary-Treasurer Eddie Cantú. The Missions Conventions in these churches are some of the best we have participated in in the 51 years of our missionary service!
There was also a credentialing service (pictured) where a number of ministers received their upgraded credentials to Licensed and Ordained ministers of the Assemblies of God.
