Cyndie

Cyndie is an R.N. (registered nurse), born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1966. Cyndie is of Swedish origin. She graduated from the prestigious Swedish Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis and attended North Central Bible College. Cyndie and Don were married in Minneapolis in 1969.

Cyndie has been licensed as an R.N. variously in Minnesota, Florida, North Dakota and Texas, Cyndie has been able to put her nursing skills to good use at home and on the field. She also helps women in seminars and one-on-one, touching on subjects as inner-beauty along with instructions on hygiene, dietary advice, makeup and wardrobe tips designed to help a woman be healthy, feel good, and feel good about herself, resulting in more effective Christian service.

In her capacity as a Registered Nurse and member of the AGWM emergency preparedness committee for the Caribbean area, Cyndie was able to attend a special AIDS/HIV seminar for a select group of Assemblies of God missionaries working in the region of Latin America and Caribbean in the area of Health and Human services. She also served for several years as the School Nurse at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

Don & Cyndie have now moved back in Spain to their new assignment. It has been very rewarding to see how many pastors’ wives and missionaries in Spain have come up to Cyndie (now that we are back in Spain) and have told us how much Cyndie’s life and testimony impacted their lives from the time we were in Spain 20 years ago. Now they are in leadership positions. Cyndie is really excited about returning to minister in Spain after all of these years. We still have some dear friends here from the 15 years we ministered in Spain previously.

Cyndie enjoys sewing, baking, crafts, and making things for her (our) beautiful grandchildren (whom she misses very much). Meanwhile, Cyndie is busy being a missionary wife, mother to a wonderful teenage girl, secretary, bookkeeper, calendar and activity co-ordinator, household management specialist, prayer intercessor, companion and friend. Cyndie enjoys ministering in women’s groups and, when possible, together with Don in their speaking engagements. She keeps everything afloat and running smoothly at home and in the office when Don is away on his many ministry trips, taking care of correspondence, bills, phone calls, newsletters, faxes and e-mails among her many other responsibilities.

Don’s mother became widowed in 2004. “Abuela” Jeter is a very special lady and Cyndie had been able to help monitor her health and medications to make sure that she lives way past her 96th birthday. She is strong, alert, and mobile – just a delight to be around. Through the marvels of modern technology and the Internet Protocol telephones, we have been able to maintain a Waxahachie phone while living in Madrid and keep in touch and help with matters back home.

Abuela now lives in Virginia Beach where Don’s oldest brother, Stan, and his wife, Rhoda, provide her a home and primary care. Mrs. Hugh Jeter (Abuela) just turned 100 years old in November 2011!

Now that Christina (our last child) has graduated from High School a new chapter opened in our lives. We are very thankful that Christina chose to stay in Spain for another year in order to further her cultural & language experience as well as serving in ministry. She is now enrolled in Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri, where she is a Junior and pursuing a career in Creative Writing.

Cyndie has been a key factor in the prayer ministry of our church in Alcalá de Henares and the Lord has opened countless opportunities to mentor and counsel the women of the church. She is greatly loved and appreciated as she has served as a Godly “mother” to many ladies who are struggling with raising children in broken homes and working jobs to eke out a living. God is working many miracles in their lives.
